GTA 6 Trailer 2: The Second Official Trailer, Scene by Scene

The second official Grand Theft Auto VI trailer landed in May 2025 and did something the reveal never tried: it pulled back to show the whole state. Where Trailer 1 sold you Vice City at dawn, Trailer 2 took you out into Leonida proper, the Keys, the wetlands, the small inland towns, and built it all around Jason and Lucia as a pair rather than a single face. This page is the dedicated home for that trailer: the best legitimate quality, the runtime, and a scene index you can scan.

You can watch it inside the Trailer Vault on the homepage, alongside the first trailer, with timecode chapters and a link straight to Rockstar's official channel.

What Rockstar actually showed

Trailer 2 is wider and more lived-in than the reveal. Across its runtime it moves through Vice City's downtown and beachfront, then pushes outward into the rest of Leonida. The throughline is the relationship between the two leads: Jason Duval out near the Keys, Lucia Caminos back in the city, the two of them circling the same orbit. Rockstar leans on tone here, sun, money, surveillance, the constant hum of phones and cameras, rather than spelling out plot.

What is on screen is the only thing we treat as fact. The trailer shows:

  • More of Leonida beyond Vice City Confirmed, including coastal Keys, wetlands and rural towns.
  • Both protagonists, Jason and Lucia, in extended scenes Confirmed.
  • A heavier focus on character and atmosphere than the reveal trailer.

The gameplay-versus-cutscene question

The most-asked question about this trailer is which shots are gameplay and which are cutscene. The honest answer: Rockstar has not labelled any of it as captured gameplay. The community has built detailed shot-by-shot lists arguing one way or the other, and some of that analysis is genuinely sharp, but it is still community analysis, not Rockstar spec Leak / rumour, unverified. We will not present a fan's "this is in-game footage" call as if Rockstar said it.

If you want the catalogue of hidden details, returning brands and easter eggs packed into the frame, that lives on our trailer breakdown page, where every claim is tied to what is visible on screen.

Runtime and a note on the date

There is some crossed wiring online about the exact release date of this trailer, with a few outlets listing an earlier 2025 date. We use the cautious May 2025 phrasing and tie it to Rockstar's own Newswire rather than to aggregator timestamps. On runtime, the second trailer is noticeably longer than the reveal, the longer look people had been asking for since December 2023.

Scene index

Use this as a rough map rather than a frame-accurate transcript. The trailer broadly moves through:

  1. Vice City at scale, downtown towers, the beachfront and the strip.
  2. Jason near the water, the Keys and boat life setting up his half of the story.
  3. Lucia in the city, nightlife, neon and the social-media churn.
  4. The wider state, wetlands, rural towns and roadside Americana.
  5. The two leads together, the relationship the whole trailer is built around.

Where to watch it in the best quality

The official upload streams in up to 4K on Rockstar's YouTube channel. People hunt for higher-bitrate mirrors, but we point you at official sources only. Our watch in 4K page explains the difference between YouTube's 4K and the higher-bitrate uploads people talk about, without sending you to reupload or "download" sites.

Where Trailer 2 sits in the bigger picture

Trailer 2 is the current high-water mark for official GTA 6 footage, but it is not the last word. A third trailer is widely expected and just as widely rumoured, none of it Rockstar-confirmed yet; we track that on the Trailer 3 page and fold the real thing into the Vault the moment it drops. For the music threaded through this trailer, the Pointer Sisters and the radio snippets, see the trailer song page. And the world it tours, Vice City inside the state of Leonida, is broken down on the Vice City and Leonida explainer.
