Trailer 1 song (4 December 2023)

Confirmed soundtrack vs wishlist
Here is where source discipline matters. Songs in a trailer are confirmed to be in that trailer. They are not automatically confirmed for the in-game radio. And a track being on someone's "GTA 6 soundtrack" list usually means nothing more than that a fan wants it there.

Why these songs, and why they work
Tom Petty's road-weary Americana under the reveal sells the bittersweet, sun-and-rust tone of Leonida. The Pointer Sisters' brighter, dance-floor energy in Trailer 2 leans into Vice City's nightlife. Both choices do what Rockstar trailer music always does: they place you in a specific, slightly faded slice of Florida culture before a single mission is explained.
What to watch for in Trailer 3
When the next trailer arrives, the song will tell you a lot about its tone before you parse a single frame.
